About LCP Lawn Services
LCP Lawn Services is a lawn care business in Colchester run by Luke Payne, the founder and sole operator. After ten years running a garden maintenance company, Luke trained in horticulture at Writtle College, where he achieved distinctions in lawn care units and was recommended to study sports turf. The business provides lawn care packages that combine grass-cutting, treatments and mechanical work. Services listed are scarification to reduce thatch, aeration to relieve soil compaction, topdressing with soil and sand, lawn renovation by seeding or turfing, grass-cutting, hedge trimming, hedge reductions, garden clearances and small tree work.
LCP Lawn Services covers Colchester and surrounding areas. Luke works alone and offers a free lawn survey to identify each lawn's specific problems and discuss a care package for that lawn. He uses modern equipment including petrol mowers and battery-powered trimmers and blowers. Scarification is done in spring or autumn as part of annual maintenance, and aeration can be applied throughout the year with each type having its own benefits. Topdressing helps with drainage problems by gradually changing the soil profile.
Luke holds PA1 PA6 spraying certificates for professional pesticide application and carries public liability insurance and a waste carriers licence. As an independent business, the firm states it can provide prices up to 20 per cent cheaper than nationwide lawn franchise companies.
