What you get with Premium
Enquiries with the details

Your website, clickable
On a free listing your website shows as plain text. With Premium it becomes a link customers can tap.
Your prices and 24 photos
Show your prices and photos of your work before the customer even rings.
Your availability
“Taking on new work” on your listing, plus a note to customers above your enquiry form.
Towards the top of your town
Premium listings appear towards the top of your town’s lists, town pages and service pages. When several businesses in a town have Premium, they take turns at the top.

What the badge means
A listing showing the Owner verified (paid check) mark was reached, within the last year, on the phone number or email address it already publishes, and its profile lists, a line each, what was seen and the date, naming nothing that was not. There is no licence to trade as a gardener, so the mark confirms who runs the business and what was seen, never the standard of the work. A mark lasts a year from the date things were seen, and comes off sooner if Premium ends. It carries the word paid wherever it appears. It is not a recommendation, not a review or a rating, not a guarantee of the work, and it says nothing about price. The date beside it is the date things were seen, and a certificate can run out after it, so ask to see one that is current.
The small print
- Who you pay
- gardener.trade, 7 Princes St, Edinburgh. Stripe takes the payment; card details go to Stripe and never reach this site.
- Prices
- Premium is the only paid plan, at £12 a month plus VAT. You can cancel renewal at any time and your subscription will not renew any further. VAT is charged on every payment at the standard rate of 20%, so Premium comes to £14.40 a month including VAT.
- Renewal
- Premium renews automatically every month until you cancel.
- Cancelling
- Any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. It takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and the plan is not renewed after it. There are no refunds for part of a period except where the law requires one.
- Buying as a business
- Premium is sold to gardening businesses for use in the business, and you confirm that, and that you accept the terms, with a tick box before you pay.
- One listing per plan
- Premium covers one listing. If you run two listings, for example in two towns under two names, each needs its own Premium for the paid tools to show on it.
- When a plan ends
- The badge comes off at the end of the paid period. Your website shows as plain text again, and your price list, photos, reply note and availability stop showing at once, are kept for 90 days in case you come back, and are then deleted. No new enquiries can be sent; those received stay in your dashboard for 12 months. Your listing stays listed, no longer towards the top of your town's lists.
Questions
Where does a Premium listing appear?
Premium listings appear towards the top of your town's lists, town pages and service pages. When several businesses in a town have Premium, they take turns at the top, so no particular place is promised. Below the Premium listings, the order is how recently a listing was checked, then how complete it is, then how close the business is to the town centre. Each Premium listing shows the words "Premium listing".
How do I start?
Fill in the Get Premium form: your listing, your name, business email and phone number. It takes you straight on to payment, with your first month free. Your claim is checked as any claim is: if your email address is on your own website's domain, and that website names your business and shows the phone number on your listing, it goes through at once; otherwise it's checked against the details your business already publishes. Premium starts on your listing when the claim is approved. If the claim is not approved, the subscription is cancelled and you are not charged. If you would rather not pay yet, you can claim free and choose Premium later from your dashboard.
Do I need Premium to get enquiries?
Yes. The enquiry form shows on your profile only while you have Premium. Each enquiry is emailed to you, so you reply to the customer directly, and kept in your dashboard. Each one carries the customer's job card: the job, the size of the garden, a one-off or how often, roughly how many square metres or metres of hedge or fence, how the garden is reached, whether the green waste is to go, whether they own or rent, and when they need it. There is no lead fee and no commission on top of Premium: you keep the whole job. Without Premium, customers ring the phone number on your listing instead. We do not promise any number of enquiries.
How does the price list work?
You enter your own prices: an hourly rate, a day rate and a minimum charge, a cut for a small, medium or large lawn, hedge cutting and fencing per metre, turfing, patios and paving and jet washing per square metre, starting prices for garden clearance and tree work, and taking away a load of green waste, plus up to 20 extras. You say whether your prices include VAT. A customer who has filled in a job card sees "your job here: about £X" on your profile, worked out from your own prices and labelled as yours, with a reminder to ask you for a written quote.
What does availability say?
Whatever you set: "Taking on new work", "Next free:" and a date, or "Fully booked for now". Change it when it stops being true. It never says when you will start, and nothing else on the site does either.
Which photos can I add?
Up to 24 photos of work you did yourself, your van or your team at work, with captions. Pair a before with its after, a hedge or a cleared plot, and they show side by side. No stock images, no other firms' work, and no photo of a customer's home or garden they have not agreed to.
Can I cancel?
Yes, at any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. Your listing carries on as a free claimed listing, no longer towards the top of your town's lists.
