RS Treecare - Tree Surgeons Edinburgh

About RS Treecare - Tree Surgeons Edinburgh

RS Treecare is a family-run tree surgery business in Edinburgh run by Mark Reynolds. It carries out crown reductions, crown lifting, thinning, deadwooding, tree removals and sectional dismantles. The business also grinds stumps, trims hedges and clears sites. Work is done for homeowners, landlords and businesses across Edinburgh.

Crown reduction cuts branches back to suitable lateral growth points to reduce the overall height and spread of the canopy, keeping trees clear of roofs, windows, solar panels, chimneys and roads. Crown lifting removes the lowest branches to increase clearance for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles, and allows more sunlight to reach lawns and driveways beneath. Thinning removes smaller internal branches to reduce crown density and improve light, air and wind flow. Deadwooding removes dead, dying or diseased branches to prevent hazards and stop fungal pathogens spreading. All pruning follows British Standard BS3998:2010, which sets out industry guidelines for tree work in the UK.

The business covers Edinburgh. Work begins with an assessment of the tree and a transparent quotation. Gardens, structures and surroundings are protected during work, and everything is left tidy. Logs, mulch and woodchip are recycled or reused wherever possible. RS Treecare is fully insured and uses modern, well-maintained equipment. Mark Reynolds spent two years working for his uncle, a tree surgeon, and later served thirteen years in the army before building his own business. He donates wood chips to allotments and logs to schools.
