About LumberJack tree services
LumberJack Tree Services is a tree surgery business based in Great Leighs, Chelmsford. It carries out tree felling, hedge cutting, tree reduction, pollarding, crown thinning and lifting, site clearance and stump grinding for domestic and commercial customers. The business also supplies and stacks logs for wood stoves.
The owner trained at Writtle College and Capel Manor College, Enfield, where he achieved Merit in Forestry and Arboriculture. He holds City and Guilds certifications in chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting, felling and processing trees, aerial tree rescue using rope and harness, aerial cutting with free-fall techniques, and safe use of a mobile elevated work platform. He also holds EFAW Emergency First Aid at Work for Forestry Level 3 VTQ.
LumberJack Tree Services covers Essex and Hertfordshire. Work begins with a visit to discuss the job and advise on the approach from a legal and practical standpoint. The business removes dead, diseased and damaged branches, and carries out regular hedge maintenance and shaping. Crown thinning allows light through the tree by removing inner branches, while crown lifting removes lower branches to raise the crown's height. Site clearance involves tree felling, stump grinding and scrub clearance to prepare land for development. The work area is left clean and tidy once the job is complete. The business holds public liability insurance of up to £5 million.
