Goodwood Tree Surgery Ltd

About Goodwood Tree Surgery Ltd

Goodwood Tree Surgery Ltd is a tree surgery business based in Tadley, run by Paul Needham, who founded the company in 2007. The business carries out crown reduction, crown raising, thinning, dead wood removal, dismantling and felling for domestic and commercial clients. Hedge maintenance is also offered. Services include tree surveys, land clearance, timber extraction and removal of diseased crops for building development projects.

The business covers Berkshire, North Hampshire, West London and South Oxfordshire. Crown reduction removes selected limbs to reduce the height or spread of the crown while keeping the framework intact. Crown raising removes lower limbs to prepare the canopy. Thinning removes smaller limbs from the outer crown. Dead wooding removes dead branches up to 10-20mm in diameter. Directional felling is undertaken after careful consideration of building proximity, wind direction and ground conditions. Dismantling is carried out where canopies extend over buildings, landscape features, swimming pools and service cables. Hedges are maintained annually or twice yearly depending on species.

Goodwood Tree Surgery Ltd works to BS 3998 standards and liaises with local authorities and conservation groups for trees in conservation areas, SSSI areas or under tree preservation orders. The business is Environment Agency registered as a waste carrier and holds public liability insurance. Paul gained a certificate level 2 in arboriculture at Merrist Wood College, Guildford, and the team undertakes LOLER checks every 6 months for climbing kit and lifting equipment.
