About Doodlebug botanical -Garden consultant Devon-
Doodlebug Botanical is a horticultural consultancy run by Callum Munro-Faure in Exeter. The business offers garden design, planting schemes, garden maintenance plans, coaching sessions and specialist maintenance work for residential and commercial projects. Callum has over 15 years of experience in horticulture, trained through the Royal Horticultural Society at Wisley, and worked as head gardener on multiple private estates before founding Doodlebug Botanical in 2026.
The services include garden design and planting schemes, with an initial visit to discuss the client's vision, site constraints, climate and soil. A detailed design report specifies plants based on soil type, light levels, location and microclimate, and the business is available to implement the design or clients can install their own garden. Garden maintenance plans provide month-by-month recommendations for each garden and its plants. One-to-one coaching sessions teach maintenance, planting and growing techniques, with Callum gardening alongside clients to build confidence. Specialist maintenance covers pruning of wisterias, roses and honeysuckles, identification and treatment of pests and diseases in sustainable ways, care of soft fruit and apple trees, and vegetable garden management.
Doodlebug Botanical covers Exeter and operates throughout the South West. The business focuses on helping clients create healthy, resilient outdoor spaces through informed planting and sustainable horticulture. Callum has a particular interest in ornamental and tropical planting and the relationship between planting design and environmental resilience.
