About County Tree Surgeons Ltd
County Tree Surgeons Ltd is a family-run tree works business based in Crawley. The company has been trading since 1987, when founder Brian Farrow established it with his wife Judy. Brian was joined by sons Paul and Lee, and all four family members hold directorships. The business now employs consulting arborists, contract managers, plant operators, arborists, tree surgeons, countryside operatives and administrators.
County Tree Surgeons carries out tree management, woodland management, veteran and ancient tree care, and local authority and countryside management. Services include tree felling, pruning, land clearance and forestry work. The business works for local authorities, councils, schools, housing associations, developers and homeowners across West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London. Core areas are Crawley, Horsham, East Grinstead, Horley, Brighton and Redhill.
Work begins with a free site visit where tree surgeons or arborists assess the job and surroundings. A comprehensive quotation follows, showing the price breakdown and expected timescale. Once a date is scheduled, the team arrives with all equipment needed. All tree work follows British Standard 3998. Tree waste is removed from site and recycled or repurposed wherever possible. After completion, an itemised invoice is sent matching the initial quote.
County Tree Surgeons was granted a Royal Warrant in 2022. It holds certifications including Arboricultural Associate Approved Contractor, SafeContractor, CHAS, SMAS, Constructionline, ISO9001, ISO14001 and Trustmark. The business has a fully equipped workshop with in-house engineers, a timber crane, telehandler and large tractors for extracting timbers whole.
