About Atlas Arboriculture
Atlas Arboriculture is a tree surgery business based in Chelmsford. It carries out pruning, tree felling, sectional dismantling and stump removal or grinding. The business also offers tree consultancy services, tree condition and hazard surveys for individual trees, groups of trees or woodland areas, aerial tree inspections and decay detection using specialist equipment.
The team assesses the structural and physiological health of trees and addresses specific issues faced by owners. Work is carried out to British Standard 3998:2010 Recommendations for Tree Work. Trees can be felled from ground level when site conditions allow, or removed in sections by dismantling piece by piece to prevent damage to surrounding property. Rigging equipment is used to remove trees safely, taking into account the site and surroundings.
Atlas Arboriculture covers Chelmsford and the surrounding area. The business has a collective experience well in excess of 30 years and holds qualifications relating specifically to arboriculture and conservation management. Teams are trained, qualified and experienced. Tree surveys identify physiological and structural problems and recommend suitable management options. Aerial defect inspections are carried out by qualified tree climbers for trees requiring a higher level of inspection. Decay detection uses the RESI PD, specialist equipment that tests woody tissue by passing a fine drill bit through the wood and measuring resistance to drilling, providing evidence to inform management decisions.
