About AJH Tree Services LTD
AJH Tree Services Ltd is a tree surgery company based in Markyate. It carries out tree pruning, tree removal, hedge cutting, stump grinding, crown reduction and site clearance for residential and commercial properties. The team also supplies firewood and woodchip, and offers emergency call-out for storm clearance.
Tree pruning work includes crown thinning, crown lifting and crown reduction. Deciduous trees are pruned when dormant in late autumn or winter, while maple, horse chestnut, birch, walnut and cherry trees are pruned in mid-summer after new growth has matured. Fruit trees are pruned when dormant in winter, with dead, dying and diseased branches removed along with branches that cross or grow inward. Crown thinning allows more light through and reduces wind resistance. Crown lifting removes the lowest branches to allow light into a property and provide clearance above roads and footpaths. Crown reduction prevents branches contacting buildings and removes branches obstructing street lighting and cables.
Tree removal is carried out after careful assessment, using techniques ranging from a straight fell to sectional dismantlement with ropes, pulleys and rigging equipment. Winches and cherry pickers are employed when required. Hedges are trimmed regularly, with evergreen formal hedges trimmed two or three times a year and conifer hedges such as leylandii pruned regularly to prevent outgrowing their location.
AJH Tree Services covers Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. All tree surgeons are trained and qualified by the NPTC and City and Guilds. The business holds public liability insurance and a Waste Carriage License from the Environment Agency.
