How much does driveway cleaning cost?
Driveway pricing divides into a cleaning figure and a sealing figure, and the two together roughly double the bill. A 60 square metre drive cleans for £150 to £250 and cleans and seals for £300 to £450. Combined rates across published guides land at £6.50 to £14 a square metre.

Gravel drives are priced by raking, weed treatment and topping up rather than by washing, and no reliable published range exists for that work. Published resealing intervals differ between two and six years, so the sealant datasheet is the figure to go by.
What moves the price
- Area. Thirty square metres at £100 to £160 against ninety at £225 to £350 for the same surface.
- Material. Block paving needs re-sanding, concrete does not, and tarmac needs lower pressure throughout.
- Sealant grade. Water based at one to two years against polyurethane at four to six and £9 to £13 a litre.
- Contamination. Oil stains at £10 to £30 each, efflorescence at £30 to £60, heavy soiling at £50 to £100.
- Repairs. Sunken or split blocks swapped out at £5 to £15 each before any sealant goes down.

Can tarmac be pressure washed?
Tarmac tolerates a wide fan at moderate pressure but loses its bitumen binder under a close rotary jet, leaving exposed stone. Cleaning it costs £100 to £220, and sealing is far less common than on block or concrete.
How long before a sealed drive can be used?
Foot traffic is usually fine after four to six hours and vehicles after 24 to 48 hours, depending on the product and the weather. Rain inside the first few hours can ruin a coat, so contractors watch the forecast before starting.
